MCJ 2020 - KC Postponed

It's official! The recommendation to postpone the MCJ annual reunion from 2020 to 2021 is now in effect. The Kansas City 2020 host committee recommended postponing and it was voted on and overwhelmingly passed by the family attending the meeting we had on Tuesday May 5th, 7:00 p.m. via Zoom videoconference.

 

Please disseminate this information to as many family members as you can so that everyone gets the word as soon as possible. Here are the details of how we wind down our arrangements for 2020 so that we address all concerns and don't leave any details unresolved.

 

5). A question was asked on the call about how the postponement would affect the already planned future reunion destinations. At this time we anticipate everything would just slide one year later in the schedule. As a reminder here is how we had planned the upcoming reunion destinations.

 

2020 - Kansas City

2021 - Will Simond is researching cruise destinations and will give a report once he determines good options.

2022 - Washington D.C.

2023 - Arizona

2024 - Open

2025 - Indianapolis, IN

 

During the meeting a concern was raised about going on a cruise with the new reality we have with the global pandemic on everyone's mind. The answer is that as we said before Will is researching good options and will make a presentation to the family. At that time we'll vote the proposal in or out so there's no need to worry about that right now. So with all the above being said I think we can move on from 2020 and use the next year and 4 months to get really excited about the blowout we'll have in Kansas City in 2021.

 

And lastly, everyone was so excited and happy to link up on Zoom last night and several people have expressed a desire to do this on a more regular basis. I agree, it was really nice seeing everyone and we should be able to work a videoconference into our schedule moving forward. I'll discuss this with many of you and get your thoughts on how often we may be able to do this. All for now, much love to everyone.
